Location not as close to airport as was expected, but free shuttle service to and from airport compensated.
Pool and spa facilities were excellent.
But restaurant was a huge disappointment. It was unable to adequately accommodate a guest needing a gluten-free diet at dinner. Initially told he could have nothing from the menu of the day and only one dish (a salad) from the a la carte menu. After complaining, he was told by another staff member that he could have any grilled dish from the a la carte menu, but without its sauce and without its accompanying fried or roasted potatos. It is incredible that a chef in a four star hotel, who presumably is a qualified chef, could not produce either a baked or mashed potato, or indeed some rice. It was confirmed a second time to the guest that he could have nothing from the menu of the day because all the dishes on that menu are pre-prepared and already have sauces and dressings on them!! Again, this is not what you expect to hear from a chef or a restaurant in a four star hotel. This was the first and only time in 18 days in Spain and France that this happened - everywhere else we visited could adapt their menu and did so willingly - they were keen to help. This hotel could only offer apologies and excuses as to why they couldn't help. We left the restaurant and went elsewhere. When the guest asked for the hotel manager at reception to lodge a formal complaint, he was told there was no manager on duty, that there was nobody in charge of the hotel, and that they (the desk staff) were too busy checking people in at the time to take details of his complaint. This is simply not good enough!
Top Tip
There is an excellent Wok restaurant about 100m diagonally across the carpark at the front of the hotel where you can have an "all you can eat" buffet of sushi and/or freshly cooked food of every kind, (starters, main courses and desserts) for an amazing price of about €13 per person. Plenty of variety to choose from for gluten free diet and for ordinary diet.
There is a very good hairdressers in the large shopping centre beside the hotel.
